Jesus also said in Matthew 22:37-39 that the greatest commandment was to love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul, and with all our mind. The second greatest commandment is to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. Your giving will assist us in reaching thousands of churches to ....

Lonnie Richardson is the founder
of "God’s Special Angels". His youngest daughter,
Megan, was born autistic. In the past nineteen years since Megan’s
birth, God has taught him the heartache and disappointment involved
with parenting a special needs child. On the other hand, God has
also taught him the great joy and victory that can be enjoyed within
the special needs family. He enjoyed closeness with God that allowed
him to become the Lay Pastor over two Methodist Churches in the
area surrounding his home town of Kilbourne, Louisiana. However,
he was also made painfully aware of Satan’s snares after the
death of his parents that led him into a downward spiral that eventually
led to divorce. However, God had a greater purpose for Lonnie that
allowed him to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. He has worked
with Cardiac patients for five years and Special Needs Individuals
in residential settings for over six years.
Lonnie met and married his wife, Cheryl, and regained custody of
Megan and his oldest daughter Leslie. He began leading his family
back to God through Church and worship services. He and Cheryl were
given charge of a special needs program in the small church that
they attended in Munford, Tennessee about thirty miles north of
Memphis. That small program started with four "Special Angels"
meeting in the kitchen. In thirty days, that program had grown over
four hundred percent to twenty-three individuals and the church
had grown ten percent overall. Lonnie moved his family to east Tennessee
because he had a life long dream of living in the mountains. However,
God tested him. God stretched him and remolded him. God had still
yet a greater purpose for Lonnie’s life.
That purpose is "God’s Special Angels". That
purpose is to build a ministry for God’s glory that would
provide services and materials to make churches aware of the special
needs population, to help develop the spiritual maturity and discipline
necessary to reach out to the special needs family, to educate and
train the church in regards to the needs and sensitivities of these
families, and to offer support and encouragement to maintain those
ministries once they are established.
Lonnie is responsible for speaking to churches, developing materials
and services, and consulting with prayerful guidance from God. He
enjoys fishing, reading, gardening and working in God’s ministry.
He is an active member at the Church @ the Gathering, Sevierville,
Tennessee.
Cheryl Richardson is Lonnie’s wife and partner.
She has three children. She has twin daughters, Kim and Kelly, who
live with their families in Northeast Mississippi. She also has
a son, Shane, who lives with his family in Northeast Colorado. Cheryl’s
children have blessed her and Lonnie with seven grandchildren all
of whom they are very proud. Cheryl has a degree in Computer Technology
and is a computer programmer/web designer as well as working extensively with
H&R Block as a professional tax preparer and consultant. Here
at "God’s Special Angels" she is in charge
of office administration, web site development, materials production,
and scheduling. She works with Lonnie in research and assists in
his overall studies to produce services and materials of excellence
for God’s glory. Lonnie refers to her as his "accountability
compass" that keeps him on track and on time.
Cheryl enjoys fishing, gardening, computers, and working in God’s
Ministry. She is currently seeking a degree in Christian Counseling.
She is an active member at the Church @ the Gathering, Sevierville,
Tennessee.
Leslie Richardson is Lonnie’s oldest daughter
and, no fellas, she is not married. She is praying for God to send
a Godly man into her life and Lonnie & Cheryl are praying that
God gives her patience to wait on God’s timing. Leslie plays
a large role in the ministry as a data processing clerk and secretary.
She also assists in shipping and maintenance. Leslie enjoys SHOPPING,
chocolate, music, and working in God’s Ministry. She is an
active member at the Church @ the Gathering, Sevierville, Tennessee.
Megan Richardson is the Divine inspiration behind
"God’s Special Angels". She is nineteen years
old and a high functioning autistic. Megan’s feelings are
that she is not different from the rest of the world but rather
that the rest of the world is different from her. Wisdom out of
the mouths of babes! Megan is a very loving and compassionate young
lady. She wants only to be everyones friend. She has forgiven great
injustices to mend and continue relationships. When she is rejected,
she cannot understand what "she" did wrong. If we could
all adapt and understand Megan’s views, this world would be
a lot better place to live that is why she is truly one of "God’s
Special Angels". She is an
active member at the Church @ the Gathering, Sevierville, Tennessee.
Shane Callicutt is Cheryl’s son who lives
with his family in northeastern Colorado. Shane is helpful in building
and setting up computer configurations for the offices. He is also
responsible for much of the web site design and maintenance. Shane
serves as the Lead Worshiper & Adult Discipleship Minister at
his church, Emmanuel Baptist Church, Sterling, Colorado.
